I am going to guess…no, that it’s just a fun photo, possibly done to test light levels or try out a new camera. The hand holding the book looks way too natural. Though if it is a post mortem, I absolutely love it and hope I get to meet that guy in his current incarnation (Buddhist here.) because he must have had a wonderful sense of humor when he was alive to have such a fun post-mortem photo.
